I want to give people the confidence to start out on their own. To become entrepreneurs.
To realise that business idea that they’ve always had niggling away in them. I believe that creating a more entrepreneurial Britain is good for our economy and more importantly it’s good for the soul. Let people realise their dreams and to take charge of their own future. I believe that anyone can do this, I’m living proof of it. So what are you waiting for?!
I’m sick of the “Dragons” attacking people who have had the balls to get up and try to make something work. It’s very easy to knock an idea, it makes good telly. But I’d rather stop shouting them down. I want to live in a world where instead we empower people to help them make their ideas happen.
Entrepreneur James Layfield established Never Ever Limited in 2007 as an umbrella company under which he would develop the various business opportunities that he recognised.
Prior to Never Ever Limited, and at 29, James was the youngest ever Managing Director of a Virgin business, running Virgin Student, one of the earliest social networking sites in the UK. In 2005 James and his business partner Sara Gil bought Virgin Student from Virgin and re-branded it The Lounge Group.
In 2006, James established Escape Airports Limited. The following year he was cited for his ‘sheer bravery and guts’ in the list of “Top 30 Under 35 UK Entrepreneurs” compiled by Growing Business Magazine.
In 2008 Escape Airports was sold. This was the same year that Inside Consultants was set up.
Central, a new kind of workspace, was established in 2009 and it set to launch early Q2 in 2011.
James has been listed in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions of Who’s Who of Britain’s Business Elite. He was appointed membership chair of the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation UK in 2009. It is a membership organisation designed to help leading entrepreneurs learn and grow. James is continuing to drive membership this year.
James is also an Enterprise ambassador through which he helps to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs by sharing his enthusiasm and passion for enterprise and entrepreneurship with young people.
